As a long time resident of Michigan, Chris believes in strong local community values. His strong character and love for community enrichment is derived from walking in his mother’s footsteps. Marje “Roz” Bair, the namesake of the diner, deeply believed in giving back to the community. Roz passed away in 2007 after a long battle with cancer and she is the inspiration for this new venture in his life.
THE BIG IDEA:
Rosebush, Michigan a small community full of heart and soul, much like Chris himself, will be the home to this new community meeting spot Roz's Diner. Since 2008, Chris began cultivating his vision and began building community support for opening a small diner that provides good food that is locally grown for local people. Quickly residents believing in Chris and his vision began supporting him, desiring a new community business where people can come together. Support has been expansive from old friends to new friends, from fire fighters to village officials.
WHY THIS IDEA IS BETTER THAN THE REST:
As rural Villages and their vital centers risk extinction, local "gathering places" become more and more critical to keep towns we love alive. One of these towns we love is Rosebush, MI and the FUTURE gathering spot is ROZ'S DINER!
THE SKY'S THE LIMIT:
With funds raised, Roz's Diner will utilize CMURC's service providers to create a Kickstarter video and to move towards a late summer 2014 grand opening.
