CMU BUSINESS INCUBATOR TO JOIN FARMERS MARKET AT OLD SAGINAW NEWS BUILDING - MLive, Isis Simpson-Mersha

SAGINAW,MI --The Central Michigan University Research Corporation plans to expand into its third location, in the SVRC Marketplace.

The Research Corporation announced it will be expanding at 203 S. Washington in downtown Saginaw next year. The location is the former Saginaw News building, which also will become a home for the city's farmers market.

CMURC is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing economic development in the community and helping entrepreneurs with startup businesses and resources.

The CMU expansion into Saginaw will make it easier for beginning entrepreneurs and existing businesses in the area to tap into a network of business experts, state grants and the resources of the university. The Research Corporation team has helped create 130 companies and 359 jobs, according to a press release.

Dean Emerson is the CEO for SVRC Industries he said,

"We are excited to see CMURC become an even bigger part of our community and join us in infusing additional economic energy in downtown Saginaw," said Dean Emerson, CEO for the Research Corporation.

The Saginaw location will feature offices, CoWork space and conference rooms available for entrepreneurs, small businesses and corporations.

CMURC Saginaw will be the organization's second satellite location.

CMURC's headquarters is in Mount Pleasant and its second location is in Bay City.
