MY “AHA” MOMENT
Most people know relationships are critical to success, but don’t know how to create and sustain mutually beneficial and strong networks. After witnessing the frustration over the lack of results people's networking was producing, I realized their struggles were the result of two critical factors: a lack of intention, and the value our brain places on immediate rewards over future rewards. When I thought about my network I realized it was based on three things; intention, commitment and action.
THE BIG IDEA
People frequently ask me for networking tips and advice, and ask me to attend events with them to increase their confidence, introduce them to people in my network, and to show them how I network. Building a successful network doesn’t require networking more, it requires strategic networking. This requires setting intentions, creating an action plan, and following through on those actions. I decided to develop a 3-step system that once learned, anyone could utilize to build a successful network.
WHY MY IDEA IS BETTER THAN THE REST
While the Great Lakes Bay Region offers a wealth of networking opportunities, no one else is offering personalized networking coaching and training; and no one else has systemized intentional networking.
THE SKY’S THE LIMIT
The raised capital will help me build out my 3-step system for intentional networking as well as create the tool set to help individuals and teams build intentional networks. It will also provide scholarships for women who graduate from the YWCA Great Lakes Bay Region’s Getting Ahead Program; women who have worked hard to get out of poverty, but need of social capital to continue on their path to financial independence.
