The 2017 Great Lakes Bay Regional Chamber Summit is taking place Thursday, Aug. 17, and several individuals and organizations will be honored during the event.
The 2017 Regional Chamber Award winners are:
Individual: Donald Bachand, president of Saginaw Valley State University
Quality of Life: Michigan State Police
Small Business: CMU Research Corp.
Large Corporation: Michigan Sugar
The sixth annual event is a regional collaboration of the Bay Area, Midland Area, Mt. Pleasant Area and Saginaw County chambers of commerce. It is scheduled to take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Great Hall Banquet & Convention Center, 5121 Bay City Road. Registration and networking start at 11:15 a.m.
Valerie Sathe Brugeman of the Center for Automotive Research will be the keynote speaker. Her work primarily involves the interactions among the automotive industry, communities and advanced mobility, according to her bio on the Center for Automotive Research website.
Early bird registration is $35 for an individual or $280 for a table of eight and ends Thursday, Aug. 10. After that, registration is $45 for an individual or $360 for a table of eight.
