Central Michigan University Research Corporation Board of Directors recognize ChargeOver as the 2019 CMURC SmartZone Small Business of the Year; honoring co-founders Keith Palmer and Ryan Bantz for their innovative invoicing solution.

Palmer and Bantz created the reoccurring billing software system called ChargeOver in 2012. This system helps companies save time and pay its customers faster. Palmer and Bantz both have over 15 years of experience in the payment collection technology and integration software business.

“ChargeOver joined the CoWork community to surround themselves with the infrastructure and a support team,” said Erin Strang, President + CEO of CMURC. “The company was able to focus on the technology and grow the business with a location soon to be opened in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.”

This award places Palmer and Bantz among the prestigious group of past recipients. The company was selected based on its technological sophistication, innovative company culture and market potential.

In addition to gaining traction throughout the United States, this year the company will be adding support for SEPA direct debit. This will enable European-based merchants to accept direct bank transfer payments from customers anywhere in the Euro-zone. ChargeOver will also be adding a U.S. GAAP-compliant revenue recognition and deferred revenue reporting. The ASC 606-compliant revenue recognition reporting helps businesses eliminate accounting complexities.

“By surrounding our company with professionals and like-minded tech entrepreneurs from the CMURC community, we have gained new insights and connections,” said Keith Palmer, co-founder of ChargeOver. “We are honored to be selected for this award and to be part of a growing ecosystem in the region.”

On May 13, Palmer and Bantz will be recognized at the Michigan Celebrates Small Business awards gala in Lansing.
