The Central Michigan University Research Corporation is bringing back food truck events with a new twist: two food trucks will be selected prior to the event and featured in a friendly face-off where one truck each week will be named champion and invited back to defend its title at the end of the 2016 season.
This is an opportunity for food trucks from around the state to offer delicious food and a unique experience to the community. Different food trucks will be promoted each week in a Facebook event created by CMURC, starting June 3. Each Friday, the food trucks will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. rain or shine at CMURC, 2625 Denison Drive, Mount Pleasant. These events are open to the public.
The event uses the hashtag #FoodTruckFridayCMURC to accelerate and support food entrepreneurs. It began in 2014 and grew to up to 400 attendees and eight food trucks in a week.
The CMURC is a nonprofit business incubator focused on advancing economic development in the community by leveraging the resources of Central Michigan University, the Mount Pleasant SmartZone and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s 21st Century Jobs Trust Fund.
