Downtown Restaurant Investments to manage Whine
Owner: 'It only makes sense to partner and leverage resources'
The Whine Restaurant located on Wackerly Street in Midland, announced Thursday they have entered into a management agreement with Downtown Restaurant Investments (DRI).
Effective immediately, DRI will work with Whine ownership and the management team to begin transitioning management duties. DRI will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including staffing, scheduling, menu development, events, etc.
DRI also owns and/or operates Tavern 101, Molasses, Molasses 2, Old City Hall, American Kitchen, and Pizza Sam’s. For more information about DRI go to www.drimichigan.com
“We are excited for our staff, the restaurant and our customers to be a part of the DRI family," said Wendy Traschen, owner, Whine. "Things have changed so much in this industry over the last six months that it only makes sense to partner and leverage resources to run the most efficient operations as possible. I have so much respect for Dave (Dittenber) and his team and what they have accomplished in this region over the last 15-plus years. This is another great step forward to enhance the dining experience for our loyal customers and for the region.”
Wendy Traschen will remain as owner, but the contract will allow for DRI to provide additional analysis, innovation and oversight to the operations.
“This is another big day for DRI, adding oversight to another premier dining establishment within our portfolio," said Dave Dittenber, CEO, DRI. "Whine has been, and will continue to be, a regional dining destination. We are excited to work with Wendy. She has been a pillar in this community for almost two decades and is one of the benchmarks for women-owned businesses in the region.”
Whine opened its doors in 2010 and offers one of the largest selections of wine in the area, along with 10 craft beer draft handles and a list of handcrafted cocktails. For more information, visit www.vinotoventby.com. Waterfall Grill, LLC is the owner and operator of Whine.
