BAY CITY, MI -- Uptown Bay City is about to have a new tenant -- Omoni Boutique will celebrate its grand opening there Saturday, June 3.
Owner Jessica Hill invites shoppers to enjoy champagne and peruse her shop's "carefully curated selection of high fashion pieces with the confident woman in mind." The event will also feature live music, raffles and more.
The new boutique will be located in The Galleria at Uptown Bay City, the same building where Michigan Sugar and Central Michigan University Research Corp. have offices.
Hill opened her first boutique at 108 N. Michigan, near Pasong's Cafe, Cebula Fine Jewelry and Rock Your Locks Salon in Old Town Saginaw, in October. She also has an online store at www.omoniboutique.com.

Omoni is the newest addition to Uptown's tenant mix. The new mixed-use development south of downtown Bay City on the east bank of the Saginaw River also is home to Real Seafood Co., Don Angelos Aveda Lifestyle Salon, Uptown Grill, Michigan Sugar, Chemical Bank, Dow Corning Corp., McLaren Bay Region, condos and more.
Construction of the new store is ongoing and expected to be complete later this month. Hill said she wanted to secure a space at Uptown while space was still available.
"It's really filling up," she said. "I know it's kind of a risk (to open a second store), but, at the same time, it's a great opportunity."
