MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich., February 26, 2021 — President + CEO of Central Michigan University Research Corporation (CMURC) Erin Strang has been named a Most Valuable Professional (MVP) by Corp! Magazine, an award that celebrates individuals that make business happen in Michigan and serve their community.
The award given by Corp! Magazine recognizes professional who throughout their careers, community involvements and passion have made our state a better place to live and work. MVP honorees are deserving members of the community who are creating job opportunities, driving economic growth, nurturing community advancements, or leading successful companies.
“I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to create a positive impact by driving the growth of businesses and jobs in our community,” said Strang, “It’s an honor to receive the MVP award which exemplifies what the CMURC team does best – making business happen in the Great Lakes Bay Region.”
Since Strang’s start at CMURC, the organization has expanded from one location on the south end of CMU’s campus to four coworking facilities located across the region in Bay City, Midland, Mount Pleasant and Saginaw. This expansion has allowed CMURC to serve 1,674 companies, which directly led to the creation of 1,787 jobs.
Most recently, CMURC has committed to an inclusive entrepreneurship initiative as it takes a variety of unique perspectives and backgrounds to inspire innovation. The goal of the initiative is to create a diverse and professional community that promotes collaboration between entrepreneurs, professionals, and business.
