Midland, MI (November 19, 2024) | Members First Credit Union (M1) is thrilled to announce Erin Strang as the newest addition to its Board of Directors. With a strong background in economic development and extensive experience as President and CEO of Central Michigan University Research Corporation (CMURC), Strang's commitment to accelerating the success of growing businesses perfectly aligns the credit union’s mission and values.
Strang is replacing Tom (Clare) Taylor, who retired after 47 years of dedicated service on the board. Taylor left behind a lasting legacy of service and dedication that has shaped the credit union’s success.
“We are fortunate to welcome Erin to our Board of Directors,” said Carrie Iafrate, President & CEO of Members First Credit Union. “Her leadership and vision will be instrumental as we strive to grow, enhance our services, and empower people in their journey of wellbeing. Our future is bright with Erin joining forces with our other dynamic Board members. We also extend our genuine gratitude to Tom for his years of loyalty and impact.”
The Board of Directors, composed of dedicated volunteers under the leadership of Bob Cooper, actively guides strategic decisions to deliver exceptional services to Members First Credit Union’s members and communities.
“I am looking forward to serving on the board to further the vision to Create Thriving Communities,” shared Strang. “I have already experienced the amazing leadership and team of Members First Credit Union that is in place and ready to encourage a better tomorrow with inclusive services to current and future members.”
Strang, a resident of Shepherd, MI, is actively involved in her community and throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region. She contributes to chambers and economic development partners, including the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance. Her leadership at CMURC underscores her commitment to advancing economic opportunities in Central Michigan and surrounding communities.
Members First Credit Union remains dedicated to creating thriving communities and delivering outstanding member experiences. With Strang on board, the credit union is poised to strengthen its commitment to innovation, growth, and member empowerment.
